Getting Started with Bue

Welcome to Bue! This guide will help you set up Bue in your Discord server and get started with its powerful moderation and analytics features.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Administrator permissions in your Discord server
  • A Discord server with at least 10 members (recommended)
  • Basic understanding of Discord's permission system

Step 1: Invite Bue to Your Server

  1. Click the Add to Discord button on our homepage
  2. Select the server you want to add Bue to
  3. Review the requested permissions carefully
  4. Click Authorize to complete the invitation

Required Permissions

Bue requires the following permissions to function properly:

  • View Channels - To see your server structure
  • Send Messages - To send notifications and responses
  • Manage Messages - For moderation features
  • Read Message History - For analytics and logging
  • Use Slash Commands - For command interactions

Step 2: Initial Configuration

Once Bue is in your server, run the setup command:

/action-threads setup

This will guide you through the initial configuration process:

  1. Select your moderation channel - Where Bue will send alerts
  2. Configure logging preferences - What events to track
  3. Set up Action Threads - Enable collaborative moderation

Step 3: Setup Logging

Once the initial setup is complete, configure logging:

/logging setup

This will allow Bue to track important events in your server, such as:

  • Message deletions
  • User bans and kicks
  • Role changes

Common Issues

Bot Not Responding

If Bue isn't responding to commands:

  1. Check that Bue has the required permissions
  2. Ensure you're using slash commands (start with /)
  3. Verify Bue is online (green status)

  1. Go to Server Settings > Roles
  2. Find the "Bue" role
  3. Ensure it has the required permissions listed above
